So, Psycho-Pass! I’ve glanced at some of the analyses posts floating about, and…just wanted to mention some Japanese cultural/societal things. Expectations and beliefs about mental illness and emotion and the like. And other random bits of analysis, haha. But yes, I live in rural Japan right now and have lived in Asia for almost a decade, so there were a few things I wanted to say to give more context to the series. In an “oh god, you mean this flavor of dystopia is actually worse?” kind of way.
(This is going to be a (edit: only slightly) spoiler-laden post, so you’ve been warned. I’ll be making a “why I think you should absolutely love Psycho-Pass (!!!!!!)” post later on, so if you haven’t a clue what I’m talking about, just wait for that one.)
