During his “We Saw Your Boobs” song Seth MacFarlane listed off women who’s breasts he’d seen in their movies. As if this isn’t grotesque enough four of the instances he listed were scenes of rape or the character was raped during the movie.

  • Hilary Swank in Boys Don’t Cry.
  • Jodie Foster in The Accused.
  • Jessica Chastain in Lawless.
  • Charlize Theron in Monster.

This, among other reasons, is why I am not on board with the “McFarlaine was knowingly crass and over-the-top because he was playing on the expectation that he was going to be inappropriate” defense. Even if that was his intention, it was still sexist, gross, and hurtful.

OKAY THIS IS WHAT ANGERS ME THE MOST ABOUT PEOPLE WHO SEE A PICTURE OR GIF OF SOMETHING ONLINE, AND THEN TAKE IT OUT OF CONTEXT AND BLOW IT OUT OF PROPORTION WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THERE WERE PEOPLE WHO HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN THE OSCARS, WHO THEN SAW THESE REACTIONS AND ASKED IF THEY WERE REAL.

The actresses were acting along!!! This section of the Oscars was pre-recorded, you idiots. Notice how all the women are wearing different dresses from what they actually wore to the Ceremony? And how their hair is different? Charlize Theron’s dress was white, not black. And Jennifer Lawrence’s hair was up, unlike her hair which was up in the gif of her reaction that is all over Tumblr. And look at the people sitting around them. They’re extras. They’re not actors or producers and they sure as hell aren’t the people who were actually sitting next to these actresses during the actual Oscars.

Furthermore, do you actually think that Seth MacFarlane wrote everything that he presented on stage? No. It was written for him and approved by the Academy. That’s why he was allowed to do it.

That’s why they went ahead and recorded this whole thing with the actresses’ consent because they agreed to it, and went along with it, because guess what? They thought it was funny. So even if you don’t think it’s funny, it’s pretty pointless coming to their aid and their rescue because THEY WERE FUCKING IN ON THE JOKE.

You see those reactions caught in the pictures above??

That’s called acting. Because that’s what those actresses do. They act.

If you actually watched the fucking Oscars, you’d know that minutes after this segment Charlize Theron was up on stage, dancing with Seth MacFarlane himself (wearing a completely different dress might I add. The dress that she wore on the red carpet and then wore for the entirety of the ceremony. NOT THE DRESS IN THE PICTURE). Do you really think she’d do that happily if she was so “appalled” by Seth’s song?

You people disgust me. If you want to be offended about something and stand up for something that matters, do your research first. Or at least watch the show itself - because then you’d realise pretty quickly that research isn’t even necessary in this case because the FACT THAT THIS WAS PRE-RECORDED IS BLATANTLY OBVIOUS.

So considering all the women mentioned were in on the joke, are you also going to consider them ”sexist, gross, and hurtful”? You might as well, because they thought the “Boob Song” was just as funny as Seth and the rest of the people who wrote and approved it did.
