221bakerstreet-london:

Sherlock Holmes is a boy afraid of his own shadow, who dosen’t want to grow up like his brother. He lives in his own world: leader of the lost boys in the yard. Consulting Detective.

Jim Moriarty is a boy forced to grow up far too fast seeing how cruel the world can truly be to someone who isn’t completely normal. He grows up. He embraces adulthood, in all it’s darkest aspects. He offers people fairy tales and happy endings, which are every bit as happy as the originals. Consulting Criminal.

He plays Sherlock’s game. Captain of the perfectly Jolly Roger, sailing uncharted waters. A web of technology piracy with himself and Smee-Sebastian at the top. Here, they can create their own sense of justice, competing for the most valuable treasure of all - human life.

As an adult, Moriarty owes Sherlock. It’s tradition for adults to usher childtren into the real world. Moriarty despises Sherlock’s childlike perception of the world: It’s all a game to him. and the weight of reality is irrelevant through that child’s eyes.

After all a child lost in his own adventures can never comprehend such real concepts. Not the concept of sacrifice, when a cabbie turns murderer to provide for his children  Not the concept of time, as humans are strapped to countdown-bombs. Not even the concept of sex, as Irene Adler is sent his way. The more Sherlock enjoys himself in his naive adventures alongside his wendy-blogger, the more Moriarty despises the “detective.”

Captain Hook becomes irrevocably obsessed with destroying Peter Pan. He turns to using the most vicious of adult themes: Time, Death, and Sacrifice. Just like the fairy tales.

Moriarty destroys Sherlock’s little world of make believe  He destroys his playtime as The Great Sherlock Holmes. He shows Sherlock that if he wishes to continue to playing…. it will come at the cost of John.

His wendy. His doctor, who makes Sherlock take his medicine, who thinks him amazing and fantastic. His flatmate who feeds him, takes care of him, who loves him unconditionally for exactly who he is.

And that’s when Sherlock realizes that human life is not just the concept of treasure. Human life is John. John is his greatest treasure, and he is prepared to do anything to protect it from Moriarty. Even growing up.

Every fairy tale needs a good old fashioned villain

Every boy, needs a taste of reality to grow up. Moriarty shakes Sherlock’s hand with a smile. “Welcome to adulthood Sherlock. Welcome to Hell.”

Sherlock then makes the first adult choice of his entire life.

“Fairy dust dosent exist here Sherlock. But don’t worry. Falling is just like flying. Except there’s a more…permanent destination.”

“Goodbye John.”
