A woman taking charge of her own sexuality is scary for the misogynist men, because they don’t see women as people but as property, that’s why you often hear them say things like “they are stealing our women” they don’t recognize women as self thinking individuals in society, and misogynist men are insecure assholes who really think that its their mission in life to control women, so when they see a woman that is secure and don’t need their validation to feel good, their insecurities grow and they harass and try to put down the woman, but all they really show is their own insecurity. So next time somebody calls you a slut, or any sexist comments remember they are just small insecure assholes, so don’t listen to them, because their insecurity is not worth your time, and all it really means is that you are a strong and independent woman!!!
True facts.
Actually, you’re forgetting the misogynist women. Women who are so jealous that other females are exprtessing themselves sexually in any way that they whip out the “whore”, “slut”, “cunt”, “skank”, etc. even faster than men and condemn these more liberated girls and women — due to the utter terror they have of having men look at these whores, not at them the most deserving “good women”.
And many of these female misogynists? They label themselves as “feminists” openly, disguise their misogyny as “feminism” and tout these “feminist” ID’s around… WHILE BASHING REAL/FICTIONAL WOMEN SOLELY FOR SHOWING SKIN/HAVING BOOBS/HAVING HIPS/ETC.. One thing is being worried about people seeing women only as objects and another is condemning every single female who is considered as pretty or sexy purely for her looks. (I know that well, since I’ve been treated like shit for my naturally big breasts ever since I as a kid, and many of these people were other women who thought I was a slut purely for my boobs.)
So yeah, men aren’t the only misogynists. Women can be just as hateful and insecure towards other females, and forgetting/ignoring/handwaving female misogynists isn’t good.
One of my very best friends is a very active feminist. She organized the Slut Walk this year at the MSU campus where women dressed in short skirts, bras and very little else (my friend, Lynn*, was wearing plastic wrap as part of her ensemble). It was an anti-slut-shaming, anti-rape campaign. Look it up, it’s AMAZING.
Okay, but why did this picture make me think of this? Because Lynn is very much in charge of her sexuality. She wants to have multiple partners and I say, more power to her! Currently, she has 4 guys she sees regularly. All of them know about each other (they’re actually friends). Anyone whose feeling like I shouldn’t be sharing this should know that Lynn will tell anyone who will listen about her lifestyle. And you know what? I think people SHOULD listen. Lynn is a woman who likes sex. She’s not a slut, whore or a skank. She’s not hurting anyone. Least of all herself (she gets tested for STDs and is super careful about contraception and whatnot).
Most importantly, she’s very active in the feminist community. She wants women to take charge of their sexuality. She wants women to be able to wear whatever they want and party and get drunk without fear of having harm come to them.
Lynn is boisterous, loud, and in your face and I wish more women were like her.
